All About Resources – Join us for a sneak peek at the UI Resource Centers, a variety of services available to professionals and business owners. Willow Fuchs, a Business Librarian at the University’s Tippie School of Business, will introduce the audience to the Small Business Development Resource Center and the Patent and Trademark Resource Center. We will also showcase ways they can support your business goals and aspirations.
Presenter Bio – Willow has been a Business Reference & Instruction Librarian at the University of Iowa Tippie School of Business since 2014, where she frequently works with students and staff in the Entrepreneurship program. She grew up on the west coast of Canada, and received her Masters of Information from the University of Toronto. She enjoys running long distances and getting outside whenever she can.

Presenter Bio – Trevor Britton is a brand strategist and a creative director with a twenty-year background in video, animation and web. His focus is using storytelling principles to help brands craft more effective branding and marketing materials.

All About Funding – Learn about the Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), a unique funding opportunity for new business owners from Community CPA’s Catherine Tran. The SSBCI is a $15 million program in Iowa that helps small businesses get loans by covering collateral gaps. It supports businesses that are mostly owned by women, people from diverse backgrounds, veterans, people with disabilities, long-term rural residents, and those that promote arts and culture in Iowa.
Presenter Bio – Catherine Tran is a leader with a passion for community development, currently serving as the Executive Director at the Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting immigrant entrepreneurs in their business journey. She holds a managerial role at Community CPA & Associates Inc., overseeing marketing and branch operations, and supporting small businesses and budding entrepreneurs in their business journey. She is committed to empowering minority communities and fostering business growth.
