Practice Conversational English at the North Liberty Library By: Library Staff February 26, 2024

The Conversational English Group will meet weekly on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Library.

Improve your English language skills in a relaxed and welcoming setting! This group is open to language learners of all levels and sessions are designed to help you build your confidence and fluency in English through interactive activities and discussions. You’ll have the opportunity to practice speaking, listening, and comprehension skills with other learners in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The group will be a no-pressure way to hear English being spoken and to practice it yourself. We’ll start off the first few weeks getting to know one another, talking about who you are, what you like to do for fun, your hobbies, favorite sports teams, favorite music, and anything else that makes you who you are.

Light snacks and water provided. No registration required to attend.

About the Host

Hello, I’m Alice. I graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL in 2015, and then spent two years teaching English in Ukraine. My time there enriched my understanding of different cultures and honed my skills in language instruction and cross-cultural communication.

Outside of my professional life, I cherish my time with my one-year-old daughter, Lyra. We spend a lot of time in parks, and at the Children’s Museum. I also enjoy relaxing on our family farm during the weekend, spinning yarn from our alpacas and teaching new tricks to our pig- she can sit and shake like a dog!
