What do you get when you mix white with red or blue? What if you mix in more and more white? The French word is ombré; artists call it value. We’ll experiment today, and turn it into a cool and delicious-looking work of art.
To do the art project along with Miss Erin, you’ll need these materials:
• Tempera paint or other washable paint: white + one other color of your choice
• A washable or disposable container for a paint palette (Miss Erin will be using a disposable plate)
• Paintbrush and water for rinsing
• Paper towels
• Several pieces of white paper thick enough to withstand wet media, like cardstock or construction paper
• A piece of brown paper or cardboard —6” square or less is plenty
• A pencil
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Optional: a black marker
