Volunteers Needed for North Liberty’s First Fix-It Cafe June 15, 2026
Do you enjoy tinkering, repairing, or helping others learn new skills? The North Liberty Library is looking for volunteers for our very first Fix-It Cafe, happening Saturday, September 26, from 1–4 p.m.
We’re seeking local makers, craftspeople, and handy community members with experience repairing textiles, furniture, household electronics, small appliances, or similar household items who are willing to share their knowledge with others. As a volunteer, you can choose the role that fits you best — either repair items yourself or guide participants through the repair process so they can learn how to fix their own belongings.
The Fix-It Cafe is all about community building, reducing waste, and teaching easy skills to help keep everyday items out of the landfill. Please note, volunteers are not held responsible for the outcome of any repairs made during the event.
If you’re interested in volunteering and putting your skills to good use while helping your community, we’d love to hear from you! Email at Asher at abonner@northlibertyia.org with your name, repair specialty, what tools you are bringing, if you need to borrow any tools, or if you have any questions.
