M.A.G.I.C.

The Mail Art Group of Iowa City (M.A.G.I.C.) was formed in November 2022 in search of community, inspiration and a desire for deeper connection with others through the analog network of correspondence art. Over the past 3 years the group has grown and evolved with support from Public Space One, Iowa City’s nonprofit community arts organization. In-person meetings which encourage sharing ideas, proposing projects and redistributing assorted ephemera and art materials. Exchanges take place through the postal system, utilizing a variety of media including drawing, painting, junk mail, collage, found objects and typewritten poetry.
